The London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689

While we hold tenaciously to the inerrant and infallible word of God as found in the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments in the Holy Bible (and this being our only source of faith and practice); we embrace and adopt the London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689 (herein referred to as the confession) as the most accurate expression of that system of doctrine taught in the Bible. This confession, then, is the doctrinal statement and position of this Church.

A Summary of Belief Contained in the Confession
The divine and verbal inspiration, and the all and sole sufficiency of the Holy Scriptures of Old and New Testaments as originally given; the Trinity in unity of the God-head; the essential deity and perfect humanity and virgin birth of our Lord Jesus Christ; the personality of the Holy Spirit; the depraved and fallen state of man; the substitutionary sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ through the shedding of his blood on the cross; the justification of the sinner by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus; the personality of the devil; the natural immortality of the soul; the visible and bodily second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ; the resurrection of the body; the eternal security of the believer; the conscious eternal punishment of those who die impenitent; the binding character of the ordinances of the Lord’s Supper being observed and the immersion of believers as the only Christian baptism; and the responsibility of all saved souls to live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age.
